Eligibility Requirements

• Participants need intermediate-level English skills
• A willingness to learn German is important
• Language learning support is provided during the program
• Austrian cuisine includes lots of meat, vegetables, and pastries; vegetarian host families are available, but vegan options cannot be guaranteed
• Participants with food allergies can join the program
• Participants with animal allergies can be accepted if they use the necessary medications
• Almost 74% of Austrians are Roman Catholic
• Although smoking rates are decreasing in Austria, there is no guarantee that a host family will be smoke-free
